São Paulo bets on innovation: Brightstar and Scientific Games lead the new state lottery

Brightstar Lottery and Scientific Games announced the award of a 15-year contract to operate the new lottery for the State of São Paulo, Brazil. The concession, granted through the joint venture SP Loterias SPE S.A. (SPL), grants exclusive license to offer traditional, instant and digital lottery games, as well as passive draws, with the aim of entertaining the 44 million inhabitants of São Paulo and generating funds for public health.

The alliance between both companies combines more than four decades of experience in lottery operations with cutting-edge technology to guarantee a seamless omnichannel experience, both in physical points of sale and on digital platforms.

The agreement contemplates deploying a comprehensive iLottery system, with eInstant games designed to attract an audience accustomed to mobile consumption, without abandoning the traditional network of points of sale that sustains the Brazilian lottery habit.

Marco Tasso, COO of Brightstar Lottery, highlighted: "This agreement allows us to expand our presence in Brazil and offer a comprehensive iLottery system with eInstant games that provide new entertainment opportunities."

For his part, Michael Conforti, international president of Scientific Games, stressed: "We are honored to contribute our safe technology and high-performance games to support the financing of the health system in São Paulo."
