Cirsa buys the Figueira Casino, one of the most emblematic in Portugal

Cirsa has acquired a majority stake in Sociedade Figueira Praia, the entity that owns and operates Casino Figueira, in Portugal. Located in Figueira da Foz, one of the main tourist destinations on the Portuguese Atlantic coast, the establishment is considered one of the most emblematic in the country.

Regarding the multiple of the operation, the company has indicated that it is in line with previous transactions of the group. The purchase will be funded with cash on hand and is not expected to have a significant impact on its leverage.

The Catalan company has highlighted that the casino has had a gaming license since 1948, even then under the name Casino da Figueira, which makes it one of the most historic establishments in the entire Iberian Peninsula.

"In addition to its gaming offer, the complex has an outstanding restaurant and events activity, consolidating itself as a benchmark for entertainment in the Portuguese country," added Cirsa, which considers the purchase consistent with its omnichannel strategy and complementary to the acquisition of the online operator CasinoPortugal, closed in December 2024.

With this transaction, the company completes the construction of a fully omnichannel proposal in Portugal, integrating online and in-person capabilities under the same growth strategy, and reinforces its position in one of the regulated markets with the greatest potential in Europe.

The executive president of Cirsa, Joaquim Agut, noted that "Casino Figueira becomes the first physical casino for Cirsa in Portugal, representing a new milestone in its history." And he added: "This acquisition, together with that of CasinoPortugal.pt, reinforces our ability to offer an integrated gaming and entertainment proposal through online and in-person channels."

The CEO, Antonio Hostench, assured that "Casino Figueira is an emblematic asset within the entertainment sector in Portugal, with a solid track record and a management team with deep knowledge of the market."
